This Kingston Classic Elite came in recently for us to show as a private sale. It’s served the owner well, but the need arose for an upsize. Now that her 3-horse gooseneck has arrived, it’s time for the trusty Kingston to go to a new home. This one has fresh radial tires (just mounted), the running gear was just serviced and it was also sent through Maryland State Inspection in preparation for sale. It’s ready to go!
This Classic Elite features an aluminum frame & skin, with rubber mats over a floor of treated wood planks. A wood plank floor absorbs shock (as compared to aluminum) and offers insulation against road heat and sound. This Kingston sits on smooth-riding independent-suspension torsion axles with 4-wheel brakes.
Empty weight is about 2300 lbs., a very manageable weight for such a roomy trailer (80” body width, 7’5” body height and body length of approximately 12 feet, with about 5’ of head space forward of the chest bars). This model has escape doors on both sides, roof vents and all-around windows for great natural light and ventilation. There are running boards on both sides to aid ingress and egress and there’s a stone guard on the nose to protect the finish.
The Classic Elite interior upper walls are lined in white aluminum, further contributing to the inviting feel of the bright interior (and the lined walls make this a double-wall design for added interior comfort).
Other Classic Elite niceties include rubber-lined kick panels, padded chest bars, padded walls and padded stall divider. The padded butt bars feature Kingston’s V-slot latches to get you out of the kick zone quickly. Much easier than lining up a pin & bushing. This one also has the Classic-Elite-standard head divider that removes or installs in about a minute without tools.
Kingston’s a low-volume producer of durable, high-quality horse trailers. Used ones don’t often come on the market, so stop by, and check out this one. Make it yours!
