Here’s a 2002 Kingston Windsor. The Windsor is a 2H warmblood-sized straight load. It’s our best-selling Kingston model. Body length on the Windsor is nearly 12 feet and the interior height is about 7’5”, so it’s quite roomy. And even though Kingstons are very solidly built, the empty weight of the Windsor is a very reasonable 2500 lbs. This is a private sale trailer we’re showing at our dealership. The reason it’s available is because the owner just took delivery of a brand new Kingston.
Not only is the Windsor roomy and easy to handle, it’s loaded with convenience and safety features. The all-around windows arrangement you see here is standard and provides plenty of light and great ventilation. There’s a lockable escape door on each side and generous space forward of the stalls. In fact, the forward area is so roomy that the owner had a couple of folding saddle racks installed between the front windows. Rings for securing other items were also installed.
Kingstons have a well-deserved reputation for high quality and durability. This Windsor, as with every Kingston of the last couple of decades or so, features a thick .050” aluminum skin over a strong steel tube frame. The skin has a baked-on acrylic enamel finish. The frame is chemically etched and coated with a durable epoxy primer before the finish is applied. The skin is bonded to the frame with fasteners and a special adhesive that provides a tight, quiet fit and isolation between the aluminum and steel.
Kingston’s ramp not only features a spring assist, but the assist is adjustable, a rare feature. This Windsor has thick rubber floor mats, galvanized kick panels, a removable stall divider & post and a spare tire. This one even has backup lights, another feature not found on many trailers.
