Description: Traveled Lane Trailers, Inc.

This extremely clean one-owner Jamco Series 2000 2H gooseneck just came in for us to show as a private sale. When we say extremely clean, just look at that interior! The owner is no longer showing, so it's time for the trusty Jamco to be enjoyed by a new owner.

As mentioned in the intro, this is one of Jamco's Series 2000 models. That means it has Jamco's signature interlocking aluminum planks to 4' height at the stall sides and ramp where they're most likely to be subjected to kicks, with Jamco's own structural insulated panels in upper and forward walls. The planks are stacked like the logs in a log house. It makes for a very strong wall. The Series 2000-specific panels are noteworthy as well.

Each wall panel has inner and outer aluminum skins bonded to a structural insulating core about an inch and half thick. At a meeting introducing the Series 2000s, Jamco's product manager took a long-handled sledge hammer and hit one of the panels with all his might. As we recall, the dent was about 1/2" deep at most. Even though they were introduced to simplify construction, that "hit it with a sledge hammer" demonstration showed that the Series 2000 panels were worthy of being on a Jamco. And while we're on the subject of walls, some of you may be wondering, "With those interlocking planks and sandwich-construction panels, is this a double-wall trailer?" And even if you weren't wondering, we'll tell you anyway: yes, it is. Which means it's quieter and more comfortable than a trailer with a single-skin trailer.

Just a few more words about construction and then we'll move on to user features. As are typical of a Jamco, this one has a robust aluminum frame and a one-piece aluminum roof. The floor consists of extruded aluminum planks with integrated I-Beam cross-members. A floor with cross members every 6" is generally considered a strong floor. Jamco's cross members are every 4.5 inches, 25% closer. Robust construction is one of those things you may not necessarily think about as you use a trailer, but it's a major contributor to customer satisfaction.

Now for those features you DO notice as you use a trailer... For starters, this Jamco has big-horse-friendly dimensions: body height is 7'6", body width is 7' and the 11' horse area has 7' of stall length plus a generous 4' of head space. The white walls, all-around windows and roof vents make for a bright, inviting interior with great natural light and ventilation. There's an escape door with window on each side and running boards on both sides for convenient ingress and egress. Each escape door has the expected camper latch and this trailer has the added security of a lever-style compression latch on each as well.

Other noteworthy horse area features include smooth matted walls, a padded stall divider and padded butt & chest straps. Front and rear divider posts are easily removable without tools. A thoughtful Jamco standard feature is the hinge cover for a smooth transition from floor to ramp. There are interior lights and a loading light for when the day starts early or ends late.

Moving forward, there's the 4' dressing room with plenty of windows and generous space up in the gooseneck. There's a pair of windows in the gooseneck, a window in the door and a window in the rear wall that can let a bit of additional air flow to the horse area. DR hardware includes a pair of adjustable-height saddle racks, 14 tack hooks distributed throughout, a full width blanket bar along the back wall and a clothing rod in the upper gooseneck. The DR floor is rubber-matted and the lower rear wall, upper gooseneck and bulkhead are carpeted to keep things quiet. And there's a folding step to aid climbing into the gooseneck. The step is a small touch, but if you've ever had to climb into a gooseneck without a toehold, you can appreciate how handy a step can be. And one last comment about that gooseneck - it's tapered, so this can be (and was) pulled by a short bed pickup.

This Jamco runs on smooth-riding torsion axles. New tires were mounted in 2024 and it's received light use since the running gear (bearings and brakes) was serviced in 2023.

Jamco is a low-volume producer of high-quality aluminum trailers. Used ones don't often come on the market. Here's your chance to own this well-maintained one-owner Jamco at fraction of the price of a new one! Private Sale on display at Traveled Lane.
