Description: Traveled Lane Trailers, Inc.

This one-owner custom Jamco 2-3 horse straight load with living quarters just came in for us to show as a private sale. This is an uncommon trailer for several reasons. First off, it's a Jamco, a low-volume premium brand. At any given time, you'll find few used ones on the market. Where most trailers have a thin aluminum skin over a skeleton of small tubes, this Jamco has walls of interlocking stacked aluminum tubes, similar to how they stack the logs in a log house. It makes for a strong, durable and quiet trailer.

Second, while slant load LQs are the proverbial dime a dozen, this one is a straight load. With a 7'6" body height, 8' body width and 11' for the straight stalls, it was spec'd to provide comfortable accommodations for the owner's large dressage horses.

Third, forward of the straight stalls, this one has a 5' mid area with its own ramp. Most of the time, that area was used as a mid tack for the owner's large rolling tack trunk and other items, but since the mid area has its own ramp and dimensions of 5 feet by 8 feet, it can accommodate a third large horse. This area is separated from the straight stalls by a pair of 50/50 box stall doors that can fold flat against each other, so if the mid area is clear, you can unload via the side ramp. So we guess you could call that "uncommon feature #4."

The other distinctive feature of this trailer is that you enter the living quarters from the rear. That is, that middle area, which serves as a roomy mid tack, also serves as a mudroom for the LQ. By locating the entry door at the rear of the LQ, the sidewall space otherwise lost to an entry door becomes functional living space. By our tape, the LQ is 10', and since this is a straight load, the LQ is 10' on both sides. It's not long on one side and short on the other. By eliminating that side door, this trailer offers greater accommodations than you might expect in a 10' LQ. As we were taking the pictures for this listing, we were impressed by the feeling of roominess and the amount of storage space this floor plan has.

To summarize dimensions, this Jamco has a floor length of 26 feet, with 10' for the LQ, 5' for the multi-use mid area and 11' for the straight stalls. Or you may remove the 50/50 box stall doors and have a 16' horse area, with rear and side ramps.

With a predicted snow & ice storm on the way, we figured some snowed-in trailer shoppers might be interested to know this versatile trailer is available. We mention that as preface to say that we hurriedly took these pictures the day before said snow & ice event so we'd have some pictures to show with this listing. The trailer was being prepped and we didn't have time to move the trailer before the sun dropped below the trees. The trailer was too close to another for us to get any good rear views, so as soon as possible, we're going to take some additional pictures and will update the text to include more details on the LQ. However, we have included quite a few pictures of the LQ, so you can get a good idea of what it has from the pictures. Before we update the text, we'll check dimensions on the hay rack and will verify the length of the awning, which appears to be 16-17 feet, enough for more than 120 square feet of covered exterior living space.

One last comment regarding the pictures - the graphics include the trailer owner's name and phone number. In the pictures, we digitally painted out the name and number. We were able to get a good color match on some of our paint-outs, but in some, the paint-out is far from invisible. We point this out to say that the finish of the trailer looks fine. Those sometimes visible non-matching areas below the horse and rider are just blemishes on the images, not on the trailer.

We invite you to stop by and check out this versatile and hard-to-find Jamco straight load LQ! (But we're writing this initial writeup at home while waiting for some snow and ice to melt, so please call first to make sure we're open!)
