This very clean Kingston Windsor 2H straight load just came in for us to show as a private sale. The owner had to stop riding due to medical concerns. Rather than let this very desirable trailer sit unused, he decided a new owner should have a chance to enjoy it.
As mentioned in the subject line, this is a warmblood-sized trailer, but it's a warmblood model with a difference. Body length including the broad V-nose is approximately 12' and body height is a big-horse-friendly 7'5". Stall length, head space and head room are generous. When the Windsor was a current model, it was our most popular Kingston. Many buyers liked that the Windsor's 74" body width offered stalls wide enough for their large horses but kept the overall width narrow enough to fit comfortably on tight and winding secondary roads that are not uncommon in our part of the country. Even though many trailers then had and now have body widths of 7 feet or thereabouts, in reality, that's much wider than most horses need, even large ones. On the other hand, that 4 to 10 inch narrower track meant Windsor owners didn't have to constantly worry about an unnecessarily wide trailer crowding oncoming traffic or dropping a wheel off the shoulder on back roads.
The Windsor offers an inviting and comfortable environment for your horses. It has 8 windows in what we call an "all around" window arrangement. There's a large sliding window next to each stall, a pair of large windows in the nose, another pair in the escape doors and two more in the curtain doors above the ramp. It's great for natural light and ventilation. Regarding those escape doors, there's a lockable door on each side, each underlined by a running board for easy ingress and egress.
For the added comfort of your horses, the stall divider, walls and breast bars are padded. The butt bars feature Kingston's fast-action V-slot latches to get you out of the kick zone quickly. The ramp has Kingston's adjustable easy-lift spring assist.
This Windsor features an aluminum skin over a steel frame. The Windsor's steel frame has an epoxy primer, which is tougher and more chip resistant than less expensive coatings. For added durabilty, the chassis is undercoated, a standard feature for many years on Kingston's steel framed trailers. The Windsor has smooth-riding torsion axles, brakes on all axles and radial tires, including spare.
This particular Windsor comes with several owner-provided accessories as shown in the front area of the trailer. (And please note how much space you have forward for storage.) The accessories include a horse tie, hay bag, rake, broom, folding mounting step, water container and wedge to elevate the trailer for tire changing. It's thoughtfully equipped.
