Here I am at 2:45 in the morning suffering from an allergy attack looking at trailers I have no intentions of buying. I came across a trailer that has a storage rack on the butt side INSIDE the horse area. I've never seen a trailer like that. Has anyone else? I would worry about the horse hitting his head getting in and out. What do ya'll think? And what you guess is in the compartment hidden behind the small rear "door"? I figure a generator in the bottom but what about the top? Wasted space?

Looks like storage under the mangers to me. (head side) Good place to store the "cart shafts", while hauling the rest of the carts/sulkys in the bed of the pickup, or on the roof rack.

In one of the rear views, it shows "basket type storage over the butts of the horses.
The long storage under the mangers also has a trap door from inside the trailer.
I wonder if they had a water tank in the under-manger side. Maybe horse blankets in the basket area? Soft yet ventilated. I'm trying to be open to either a trail / camping trailer or a show set up - since the saddle racks are all in the dressing room.
I'm curious about the oval metal thing under all the saddle racks.
Looks like a great trailer - a little stuffy - but it does have a fiberglass roof.
A trailer like this behind a huge RV or camper set up... ???

It doesn't really look like the roof is fiberglass. Maybe a spray on foam insulation. The tray under the saddle rack could be a brush box or maybe even a pail holder. I wouldn't worry about my horse hitting their head on the overhead rack to much either. With a wide door like that you could very easily let the horse turn and walk out rather than back out.

I saw the mangers, I was just wondering what is in the area where the rear tack would normally be. There doesn't look like there is any acess to that area except for the possible "generator" area. I don't think it's a fiberglass roof, I think it is the blow in stuff. That "basket" thing looks interesting, I wonder how much weight and what type of stuff it would hold.

well....the would only hit their butts is there were that tall. when you walk a horse into the trailer you would need to keep the horse's head away from those storage racks. hum....odd. what would you out up there? blankets? whatever ...it would need to be strapped down to make sure it did not fall down on the horses.

I'm starting to lean towards Retento's reply.... maybe the "basket" things are for harness - as in pull collars / hames?
What I find intriguing is that it's listed as a 1983 trailer - yet it's wide enough that it has the rear wheel fenders inside like the modern 7'6 - 8' Wide trailers.

Okay, on the head side, there are the 4 drop-downs and then under the 2nd horse's drop down, there is an access door under the manger. Then, at the back, there's the little door that's open - but there's all that space ABOVE it, that we can't see what's there.
Then, from a rear view, you can see another access door under the LAST horse's manger.
I can't see any "fans" but there are roof vents on both sides.
I wonder if the air conditioner, for the horses, is in that compartment at the back.. LOL...
I'm thinking a water tank above and the little door is where you would attach a hose or bucket....
