Howdy - I'd like some input about insurance for medium duty trucks like Freightliner, International, etc......who has best coverage and prices? What about "RV" insurance? Thanks for any input!

I have my 05 Freightliner Sportchassis insured with my local Farm Bureau. The rates are very reasonable. $67.50 a month on a $115K truck! They have had it since I bought it new.

Yes, that is only on the truck. My trailers all carry their own insurance. I have a very good driving record and have not had any tickets. The Freightliner is the only vehicle  I have insured with Farm Bureau at this time. All our other cars and trucks are on our USAA policy but the FL is too big for USAA to insure. Farm Bureau does cover our home, barns, and liabilty policies.

I have a friend near me that has a twin sister to my FL. He has his insured with Progressive RV. They also have his LQ trailer on the same policy. My LQ is on my USAA policy. I feel like I have better coverage for less money there.

What exactly do they cover for this apparent deal?

Thanks everyone...I contacted our Ins. Agent - and he told me that I had to insure the truck - commercial - and he said I also would have to add a liability policy for our trailer - even though we have it insured with Progressive - (a declared value - RV policy) - he said that it would not be covered for liability towing with a commercial policy? Then he called back and said that it would be written commercial because of weight class - and be classified for personal use? Does this sound right?

Not, if you have it backed with a $1,000,000 Umbrella Policy...

Do you realize that you have more coverage for damaging some ones property than the total of Injuries you might cause to others? I would increase the B.I. to a minimum of $1,000,000. I would also increase the U.M. to the same limits to protect yourself from than un/ underinsured jerk that just hit you. Personal Injury-Medical would be another good one to increase also.
