My water heater is in the LQ area directly in front of where I'd have it installed (on the floor) so the cold water and hot water feeds in there. I've got a water pump as well. I'm just wondering how complicated this would be to install (running the water lines, etc). I tried the zodi thing and it left me in the cold, literally so that's gotta go and it is just plain too much to fidget with. I'd rather have something more permanent.

Running new lines to a shower is relatively easy using the flexible Pex type of plumbing. If you have a sink, tee into the hot and cold lines running to it. Conceal the lines through the back of your cabinets until you arrive at the bulkhead. If the lines are exposed on the surface of a bulkhead, they can be covered with an aluminum "hat " channel.
Cowboy shower heads are available from several sources, and can be surface mounted or attached to the top of a bulkhead.

I think it is doable if we "T" into the hot and cold from the water heater which is just on the other side of the wall from where I want it mounted so there's only one wall to deal with. I think this will be much easier than the zodi or something portable as I know it's hooked up, I don't have to assemble it, just get the heater going, turn on the pump and take a shower.

I"m getting ready to move forward on this but have a question I'd like to throw out here....
I'm a little hesitant in cutting such a big hole in the horse area wall, so is installing a shower in the front stall better to do it flush mounted or perhaps up high with shower handles? 99% of the time I won't put a horse in that first stall but there is the 1% of the time where it could happen. thoughts please?

Hey Karynzoo,
here is a picture of how we install the cowboy showers. This is the flush mount and installed near the rear of the horse on the slant wall. This sells for around $60, and you can contact connie@doubledtrailers.com if you are interested.
I would say to hide the shower if possible, one less thing for the horse to attempt to bite, haha. Have a good one!
