I am looking at this saddle and was wondering if anyone has one(newer one) and was wondering what you do or do not like about it? How are the stirrup fenders? Do you have ankle fatigue after a while? Or do the fenders "turn " easily? Are the fenders set more forward as for a gaited horse? I do long distance so comfort is EVERYTHING.

I do not know about the Plantation saddle, but I just purchased the Gen II Cheyenne Frontier and the fenders were very easy to turn. After just one night of the old broom stick trick the stirrups were hanging in the correct position. A good source of info on the Tucker line is Summer at saddleupshop.com.

I wasn't crazy about the price either but it is the only saddle that fit my horse out of about 20. I had to take it back because we ordered the wrong seat size for me. Now I have to wait until the end of June for Tucker to make that saddle in a 15 1/2. Dang it! But at least I know it will fit my horse! I hope your saddle search goes better.

The Cheyenne Frontier cantle is 3 1/2. I really wanted the High Plains saddle which has a 5 inch cantle but the tree would not fit my horse. Tucker seat sizes start with 15 1/2 but they did not have 15 1/2 in stock when my local western store owner called to order the Cheyenne Frontier in 15 1/2. You can see all the specs on all of the Tuckers at tuckersaddles.com or saddleupshop.com. Tucker does have a saddle with a 6 inch cantle to but it is not offered in the New Gen II yet.
