Couldn't resist sharing a good snow roll from this morning. She rolled over twice, so as my Grandpa would say "A $200 Horse". We have had a very wet winter, but most of it has been sleet/freezing rain/rain. Not much snow until this morning, which by the way was suppose to be a dusting. Got 4 inches. Been having some sort of precip coming in every 3-4 days. How has your winter been?

We haven't gotten any snow here in the eastern part of Virginia. The kids have only missed one day of school, due to a little ice. No opportunities to go sledding :{ . I am starting to believe the global warming predictions!

We have also had a wet winter, but no snow to speak of here in  central KY.  Ice storms last week and the week before closed schools for a day or two.  Tornadoes the week before that!  It has all been a little strange.  Temps will be in the 20s one day and the 60s the next.

Personally, I'd like to have a little snow (shhh...don't tell hubby I said that - he's a mail carrier and hates bad weather).  But I am tired of just plain ol' wet and gloomy.

Give me snow or give me spring!!

RIDE ON!

We have had snow and more snow. The draught that has persisted over the west for the last 8-9 years seems to have finally broken. Temps have warmed up lately. No ice in the water tank for the last week. and right now it is raining, which should really melt all this dirty snow thats on the ground.

My wife commented this morning that today was the first time we've seen any of the lawn since early December. It's been covered in a blanket of white.  So I guess that is a sign that spring is coming. Of course they are forecasting that this rain will turn to snow before the day done.

There's no global warming going on here in the midwest! This has been a horrible winter! I got married last summer and moved North, only a couple hundred miles and I've been about to freeze to death! It has finally gotten into the 30's and I was able to finally get out and ride!  COME ON SPRING!!!!

I't been a beautiful winter here in south central Texas!   Very dry...currently it is 79 and tomorrow predicting 86!

It has been 60's-70's most of the winter!

I don't miss the cold and snow one bit!

Believe me, I would gladly take some of your rain or snow. It's dry dry dry in my part of the state. Highs tomorrow in the 80's with southerly winds 20-35 miles per hour. And a red flag warning for fire danger!

Is this the same horse you were riding in the show? If so she looks like a $200 plus add a couple or so zeros behind that!!!

No, This is Harlow,my husbands MFT mare. Can't see from the pic, but her mane hangs down past her shoulder - it's high maintenance, but pretty. We had her at Big Creek last year... not sure if you saw him on her? We bought her from Roger Cole two years ago. She just turned 5. She is super sweet and loves to play in the snow. She gets called a cremello quite a bit, but is palomino.

I'm sure Harlow is also, but you know how those palos look with that fuzzy white winter coat,

these palos are DARK tho!

Dry and warm in Fort Worth..high winds..BIG fire danger.  Pray for us that someone doesn't decide today is a good day to burn their trash, or that it's a good idea to toss their cigarette butt out the window...

She looks like she is having fun.  At least one of us is enjoying the weather.  Weather man says we are to get snow and rain today or tomorrow.  Everyone is getting Cabin Fever.  At least the weekends are getting better.

We had almost 40 degrees here yesterday, today, 20's, sleet and 3 MORE inches of snow.Just got out of the deep freeze up here. Seemed like it was below zero with 20-30 BELOW windchills for the past 3 weeks. Really bites! Hate having the horses out in this crap, but they just turn their butts to the wind and survive! Won't go in the open front shed unless it rains. But they are doing good this winter. Talked to my friends in Virginia a couple weeks ago, they had temps in the 50's and thought it was a little cold...heck, WE had temps almost UP to 10 below, and thought we were having a heat wave!!! Guess we get tough up here in NW Iowa, My southern buddies call where I live BFE (you figure it out!!) I love the snow, just not the below zero temps. Anyway, WHO in the h@!! came up with "windchill" temps anyway! we already KNOW it's cold outside, don't tell me what it may "FEEL" like if the wind is blowing!! It's just COLD!!
Can't wait for temps above 40, so we can RIDE!!!!!!!

Well,if you get tired of the winter weather where you are, come here to Arkansas.30's one day,60 the next.We actually saw our little "friends" that usually don't come out until much later, out today trying to swarm our horses' faces.Yes,the official Arkansas bird, the mosquito.

It is 55 here tonight. On the other hand,a couple of weeks ago when it got this warm or warmer, most of you know what happened then.

My heart goes out to all of you affected by those storms and tornadoes. My good friend in TN had a horse sucked out of his stall in the barn and carried away. Guess I'll quit complaining about the snow and cold. We  have "tornado valley" here in Iowa, but that doesn't usually hit until late spring, or summer.........at least we can get in and away from the snow and cold........so sorry for anybody's loss with those tornadoes and high winds. I guess nobody's weather is always the greatest, no matter where you live.

Sorry, I couldn't help but laugh out loud about the mosquito/bird comment.  For the past week we have been practicing our 'dusk to dawn' routine, aka... run for cover!  My daughter came in with about 20 bites the other night.

Weather in FL... well its FL... hot, humid and lacking seasons.  A few freezing nights and then back up in the 70's in the day.  Granted we have been getting some much needed rain lately.  Thank God!!!

Yes,I forget that we're not the only ones blessed (!) with those little singing devils! FL can be quiet "mosquito-y" too I'm sure! Here they say in summer you have trouble telling them from the big dragonflies.

BTW,when you were kids did any of you ever call those big "dragonflies" ( heck I GUESS that's what they are,you know?) names like "Mosquito Hawks" or "Snake Doctors"??

with inflation, I think each complete roll is now worth $1,000....  that's what I say when my boy starts rolling.

don't hate me, I wish we'd get some cold weather down here in South Fla - it'll be 85 today.... 80's is just too darn hot for Feb.  It is forcasted to get down in the mid 40's Wed night, Yahoo!    We like to get some change of seasons down here....
