Would like to upgrade my brake controller in my 99 Ford 250. Right now I have a Draw Tite with a sliding controller (not digital) that I used for my bumper pull.  I'd like to get a Prodigy or Odyssey for my GN with a weekender package. I've heard Prodigy is best, but my hitch place only sells Odyssey's or an Intellistop for $40 more... Should I hold out for the Prodigy or settle for the Odyssey? Differences? Thanks again HT World Experts!

I have the same question. Been thinking about the Prodigy for awhile(long enough to see prices drop) but still have not pulled the trigger.

I've never used the Odyssey (I use the Prodigy) but it looks like it's just as good as the Prodigy, maybe better. Even has a wider mounting range. Etrailer sells the Odyssey for $109, and the Prodigy is about $10 less. One thing about the Prodigy: the brake lights don't come on when you use the manual brake lever. Odyssey does.

Even better than the Prodigy is the new Tekonsga P-3.  They are really nice.  We've installed several now with no complaints.  The P-3 seems to have more adjustment than the Prodigy and it will work a hydraulic brake.

The Intella-Stop Ultra is a rebadged Prodigy. I wouldnt have a problem using an Odyssey.

Do I need to purchase the wiring adapter for 1999 Ford F250 with the Odyssey or will it work with the existing wiring from the old Draw Tite controller?

Does your truck have a controller harness already wired in? If so you can cut the pigtail off the Draw-tite and attach it to the Odyssey pigtail. The Draw-tite and Odyssey use the same color scheme: brake-blue, batt(+)-black, stoplight-red, grnd(-)-white. Or just be lazy like me and buy a prewired Ford harness for about $13.

If your truck doesn't have a harness, you'll have to wire it directly to the Odyssey's pigtail.
