I asked previously about putting the water heater on a switch so that it wasn't running when it wasn't needed, but I was looking around on different parts websites when I came across a basic RV wiring diagram. It showed the Water Pump also on a switch???

I would put it on a switch..... I normally turn mine off when not in use in case there's a leak. Would also be nice to turn it off if you run out of water sometime.

Most of the RV water pumps have a pressure switch which will shut off the water pump after it builds pressure. If however you were to have the pump always wired on and you run your tank empty, the pump would run continuously because it could not build any pressure,,,not having any water to pump. The pump will run until the battery is discharged.
You should have a switch to control the water pump.
