To the members of our forum:

Recently there was a posting about purchasing flares. Many of you are concerned about your safety, and posted inquiries about where to purchase emergency equipment. Through the efforts of a firefighter friend, I have done a little research, and come up with some interesting proposals that might interest you.

I previously spoke about a product called "Turbo Flare", available at http://www.turboflareusa.com/. It is an electronic devise that replaces conventional flares after dark. It is proven in my area and has definite merits.

Now I have been given information about another product called "Terralux Magnetic Led Flare Star", available at http://www.eliteled.com/. This is a similar product with one major difference; it has a magnetic base that allows it to be placed on the bumper, tailgate or fender of your truck, or any steel handle or framing of a trailer. It can be placed off the ground and aimed in the direction of traffic.

These devices have many advantages when compared to conventional roadside flares; they are longer lasting, more visible, less expensive to operate and are weather proof.

Both of these companies also have other emergency equipment and routinely provide commercial goods for emergency and law service groups.

Since I am techno brain damaged and do not know how to forward a photo or link in this forum, I cannot show you the photos of which I have been provided. Please click on the links and check out the sites. You might be interested in these products.

Here's the TerraLUX thing...

Looks interesting. Cheaper than the turboflare too. Not sure about brightness...picture looks...weak.

BTW, I found Orion flares at local Walmart. Cheap enough (3 for $5), but they were only 15 minute jobs and I want the 30 minute ones. Guess I'll try the other suggested sources.
