The hubby and I are planning a camping trip the first week of March. We were looking for a nice place in Alabama. Has anyone been to Seven Springs Lodge or KC Ranch Horse Camp? I'd like to know what the trails and camping are like at these places. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks!

i have camped at both places. Seven springs is actually a huting preserve that allows horse people to come and ride during non-hunt time period. very nice and accomadating.  KC's is actually for trail riders on private property. About 80 miles of trails, very good layout of campsites and stalls. Big rig accessible. Ken, the owner, will do everything to make your stay enjoyable. They cook on weekends and have entertainment at various times.  you would really enjoy Lots of water on the rides, and be sure and see the rock over hang in the creek on the blue trail.

Thanks everyone for your input...I will definitely look to going to KC after your review oldguide. The website looked very nice and the trails look very interesting. It's also nice to know I can get my big trailer in there as that is always a concern. How hard are the hard trails? We have ridden in the Big South Fork and have done some extremely challenging trails. Our young horses managed ok but we live in Florida and are not used to that and really have no way to train for riding on rock! :)

I have riden Big South Fork also, your horses will do fine. KC's has a variety of trails, but none will be too difficult with your experience.

We are planning on going to LBL in October. Do you have any suggestions for that area? I've seen some info posted here about LBL but any input is always good.

We may take you up on that offer sometime as I would like to do a pack trip one of these days.
