I have a two horse gooseneck coming my way!

It has an 8 foot dressing room, and I am already excited about saddle racks, and hardware, and etc.

The dressing room right now is bare. Wood paneled and carpet, but that is it!!

So if anyone has any great ideas on "pimping out my trailer" I would love to hear it!

Dont know if these are "pimp", but I dont leave home without them........

2 spare tires
tire gauge
trailer aid
bottle jack
4 way/lug wrench & breaker bar
wheel chocks
spare wheel bearings
fire ext.
reflective triangles
first aid kit
water tank
flashlight (get a good one, Maglite, not a $3 wal mart pos)
zip ties, wire, duct tape
spare brake/marker lights
a box to put it all in, and sit on to change boots/pants/spurs
folding camp/game chair(s)
door caddy to put brushes, etc. in
some manner of "quick release" trailer ties

To add to chadsalt's list and to complement the "quick release" trailer ties would be....A very sharp knife or razor box cutter. Just in case of an end of the world, armageddon, worst than terrible, emergency.....You can use this knife/razor to cut the trailer ties, halter, lead line, etc. so as to free a trapped animal. I keep several sharp objects in the truck and trailer that my wife and myself could put our hands on, in the dark, with our eyes closed. I hope we never need to use them for this purpose, but I got them just in case we ever do.

I reiterate the others ideas; especially two spares and a knife! You might want to add an emergency first aid kit as well and have it easily marked.

Add a water pump to the water tank, you will love it. If it does not have good load lights and interior lights, fix that right away. Check the reflective tape and driving lights, fix and replace as needed. Add a battery box to run lights when not hooked to truck. Add a step for going into the GN area. Ad a grounded electrical plug in the GN area, great for last minute clipping, hair styling, etc. Consider an awning if you are going to use it alot.

Add additional bridle hooks, brush boxes and blanket bars (or replace the old ones). You don't specifiy what kind of a tack area you have.

Inspect the floor, replace rubber as needed. Also if dividers do no not have padding, add padding on the dividers.

Don't know if any of that is "pimpin" but it sure will make the trailer nicer to use!

When dealing with a 1000# animal on a rope the knife belongs in your pocket, not the trailer.

OH, I keep a sharp knife in my pocket at all times, along with one holstered to my wheelchair. These knives in the truck and trailer are extra knives for my wife, family and friends!

In high school our agricultural teacher pretty much required everyone in his class room, carry a (sharp) folding pocket knife of some kind. Times have changed over the past 32 years!!

Now thats hospitality, knives for everyone. Yes times sure have changed, cut my finger with my knife the other day(man does Cold Steel make a sharp knife). A younger guy I work with asked "why were you carrying a knife".........I just shook my head and asked how many reasons did he want?

Those are exactly the kind of suggestions I am looking for! Thanks!

It is an 8 foot dressing room, in the front of the trailer. Doesn't include the GN part... paneled and carpeted.  But just has two saddle racks and some bridle hooks.

Other than that, its empty.

Love Chads list!!

This is the description of my trailer.... now, ask me if I saw it before I bought it..... no...nevermind. Don't ask.

It is used, but coming from a Gore dealer that is shipping it to the Gore plant, where Mr. Gore (whom I have found to be a very very nice and honest man) said that he would go over it with a fine toothed comb for me!!

One of those trailer aids, or jiffy jacks, the wedge shaped deal you drive up on to lift the trailer up enough to change a tire.. they are very handy.  Also make sure you have a high quality 4way lug wrench that actually fits the trailer tire lug nuts!  don't ask.....!

And U S Rider, always a good thing!

Had my 10 foot shortwall living quarters done last year. The only thing I put in were a shower and microwave with counter/sink below. I love it. Can pee in porta potty and not take up room(stored in shower) and it is spacey inside for my great dane and a few people to move around. Tin roof and all wood walls(no luan vinyl)for easy cleaning. Wouldnt change anything. Oh, I did put a cabinet in the sleep area for storage. If anyone wants pics, email me at dwnsouth@cox.net

This isn't "pimping", but it did get me thinking when I read the lists. (and it is something I forgot to do recently).  We always kept a "in case of emergency" booklet in our truck.  The information included general information such as our names, addresses, allergies, insurance information and contact information / phone numbers should it be needed.

I keep my trainer's phone number in my phone under "ICE horse" in case something happens to me and emergency personnel need to know what to do with the horse.  We have ICE (In Case of Emergency) numbers for people, just thought it made sense to provide a contact number for a horse emergency as well.
