New to forum, great posts!

We've just purchased a "new" 1995 trails west. I need an ac (3 young kids at shows/rides). What do we need? Solar vs battery vs hook-up? Links, resources, materials? At this point we aren't planning a LQ conversion, just a place to get out of the heat.

Thank you!!

Is the Trailswest setup for A/C.    You should see bracing around the vent and then going to each wall of the trailer.  My assumption is yes for this purpose.    If there is no bracing then you will have to get the bracing added.

First off, take the vent out of the trailer.  The hardest part of the A/C is getting the unit on top of the trailer.   How I did mine was to load the unit into the bucket of my tractor.  Then lift the unit to the top of the trailer.   Slide the unit into the vent hole and then tighten the brace underneath.    Then you will need to do the electrical.  Make sure you follow the instruction and use a good gauge wire.  If you think this task is overwhelming, I just had a friend get an air conditioner added to here trailer for around $800.  This included A/C 2 115 AC plugins, breakerbox, and utility outlet to connect the outside electrical

The other part of your question... You will need a utility hook-up or a generator.  Batteries and solar are much too expensive...  But then if you can afford these options, price is no barrier to the a/c installation.

Is there any recommendation as to size/brand of generator?

I'm about a lifetime away from cost not being an issue :)

Our trailer has a 4000 watt Onan generator (built in)  I hear fabulous things about Honda portable generators, too........quiet and efficient.
