I was wanting to know if any one hand any experience with the 1999 Ford F-250 7.3L diesel. it has 87,000 miles and in very good condition. what i was wondering was how much life is left in a truck this old and how reliable will it be ? i will only be hauling a two horse bumper pull aluminum over steel with two horses. Also what price range should I expect from a dealer? would it be good for long (150 mile) hauls? Thanks for your input.

I had a 99 F350SRW with the 7.3PSD and I traded it off with about 150000 miles and it still had plenty of engine life left.  It all depends on the type of transmission in the truck.  The automatics were OK if maintained well, the manuals are great transmissions but the clutch is that particular year is problematic and can get $$$$$$$$$$$ to fix.  Mine never let me down, just upgraded to a drw.
