Just a quick question to settle a disagreement between myself and a friend.  When is the best time to do routine vaccinations on pregnant mares?

We have been told that if you vaccinate in the last 3 months of pregnancy, then the foals will not need vaccines until the next season.

RIDE ON!

I would use a killed rhino vaccine @ the 3rd, fifth, 7th month. I would not use a modified live, or a live virus vaccine at all (my personal preference). tetanus, B@C antitoxin booster one month befor foaling date.

don't forget your 5-way Flu-Vac 4-6 weeks before foaling.  I also worm my mares,  the day after foaling.
