Would like to know if anyone has stayed at the Whispering Pines trail ride and campground in Missouri.  If so how was the trails and the campground.  I'm always looking for new places to ride.

I've been there twice. It is a nice clean campground. Stalls are okay, kind of small. The trails are good. Alot of them are on the Current river and cross back and forth. There's also alot of neat old homes, schools, and barns that have been restored by the government and you can ride to them. Probably 3 or 4 days riding there.

Like the others have said campground is clean, level sites and stalls are very small. Trails are not marked, so bring a GPS. You can add extra days riding by also staying at Big Creek Trail Rides. Folks from Whispering Pines ride to Big Creek for lunch sometimes. Both Camps fill up during holiday weekends and organized rides. Big Creek stalls are very nice and roomy, campground is also clean, but not much shade. All of the Current River area is beautiful riding with some trails very hilly and challenging. We ride in this area every spring and fall. You'll have a great time!

We have been to Whispering Pines 5 or 6 times. Love to ride there is the hot weather because you can ride in and along the Current River where it is cooler. There are a lot of springs that feed into the river, so it stays pretty cold. They have elec. and water and there are a lot of shaded spots in tall pine trees.

We only live about 40 miles from there. We have camped there numerous times. The owners are very nice and accomadating. Good riding even during the hot summer. The trails are not  marked even though they give you a map but it is not too hard to navigate around.

There is another horse camp nearby called Pine Crest Campground. Although we have never stayed there the campground looked really nice. If want the phone number, let me know and I will look it up for you. Debbie
