I am sorry about your mare.  But I was not replying to your note as much as some of the other posts.  As I said each is different.

The mare I have was owned by people that did not know their head from a hole in the ground about horses.  These are the people I'm talking about. They don't know how to ask for respect from their horses.  Shoot, I've had her 5 or 6 years and she will still try me. Each spring its like,"I don't know how to load". Yea right! One trip back away from the trailer and she goes in like a dream. She knows she isn't going to get away with it. Each time it is less and less. 

Just like standing tied.
