Does anyone know of or have the style of corral panels that attach to the side of the trailer then just fold out for an instant pen. I have seen them just can't find them or know who thier made by. They remind me of the gates that are used at parks that look like a triangle in shape. THX

I saw a set on a trailer at a local barn about a year ago and enquired casually about them. A day or two later the owner had tracked me down (somehow) and I got a call, I think he wanted about $500 for the set, which he claimed was about 1/2 of what he had paid a couple of years earlier.
I havn't been by that barn recently, butI suspect that they're still there.
I can ask, but this is Mass and you're in MD, I was down in Davidsonville last tues/weds, don't know if/when I'll be back there.
BTW, I think they're sold in sets of maybe 6 or 8 panels - details...

Unless you are riding wild bison on the trails, why wouldn't you simply get a portable electic fence with the vinyl t-posts with steel points to drive in the ground??they are nice and portable, effective for normal animals when used with the "Bumble-Bee" charger...good luck, and happy trails.

There are campgrounds around this neck of the woods that will not allow portable electric fencing. They will allow the use of portable corrals. I thought I saw these in Valley Vet before. I could not find the latest one in the house to check though.

Thanks robdnorm I go to a few places that I would use them. I just feel safer having my horse in something more solid that elec. fence. I sleep better. I thought I had seen them in Valley Vet also but can't find them now. Dang that's what I get for throwing away those old issues...

I guess that begs the question; "When is an electric fence not an electric fence."
If I push some T poles into the ground and string the white "electric" tape ribbon between them. Would the horses actually KNOW whether I've left the charger at home or hooked it up ? Would the campground be satisfied that it isn't an "electric" fence ? Nobody's kid would get buzzed, which is probably their primary concern. The campground wouldn't be liable for a kid getting buzzed. Nobody's kid need to know that there isn't a charger, so maybe the horses would be left alone.

I have been to rides that you get up in the morning and horses are lose becasue they have knocked the elec fencing down , a storm comes up and spooks them or another horse lose causes chaos. I prefer to have mine in a more solid safer situation than having to worry about my horse getting lose and tearing up some ones camp or herself. I carried panels on my older trailer but need a more compact style and mounting on the side of my alum. trailer. I don't care to much for the pcv type fencing. I have looked at the other fold down panel styles that are out there.

That H.T.A.S. that I posted the adress for has some pretty nice brackets for mounting on the side of your wagon AND they keep the panels just a little bit off the side of the trailer so they don't scuff and make excessive noise.

One of my horses can tell when an electric fence is on or off. If I leave it off, she just goes under it. My other 2 horses don't have a clue. I can leave the electric off and they never bother it.

We received some info yesterday for some 5' x 4' high corral panels that collapse into a 36" x 29" storage bag for a total weight of 110#. They look pretty simple, makes a 10' x 10' coral free standing, or has a kit that attaches the panels to your trailer. I've never used one - I"m just a once in a while trail rider, mostly go to shows. I would put a few sets in stock except that there is a minimum order plus freight, and that is a lot of capital to invest with winter coming on. These look pretty easy, and fairly sturdy. What do you trail riders think about this type of product, and would it be competitive at $575?

Reg, the campground we go to is managed by the USDA Forest Service. So, you can only imagine the creative rules they have. They only allow you to tether horses between established picket line poles. You are allowed to put corrals up between the poles however. I see the point that it could be an electric fence without being one, but with the Forest Service, you don't have alot of room for negotiation.

I have included some info of fellow who makes panel. These panels are made to fold and fit in your stall area of the trailer. They are made with small tubing and light weight. I guess you could probably attach them to side also. Not sure how much they are. Might be worth checking out.

Thanks everyone for your input. I decided that I really didn't want to drill into the side of my trailer for the times that i would use it. I had a nice offer on one But this is cheaper than driving to west Tn area to get it. By the way thank you sir, I hope you sell it soon. So I decided on the cart a corral. I saw one at a trail ride and thought they don't look bad But didn't know that they would compact down so small. Should be here soon..
