I've got an old can of white lithium greese in my truck... Was afraid to used it cause it turns everything black and greasy for a long time.
So there is the prevention to the problem... how do I get the sucker to work correctly now?... then use the greese or what have you to prevent it from happening again.

They should have made that out of aluminum toooo.
Sparingly on the grease. Not sure about your trailer but I can get grease in and around the pins by heating it up to almost runny and brushing it on.Whipe off excess and work it back and forth untill it is free. You may have to wait for the wd.40 to break it free a little first.
Dadburn rust.build a real nice aluminum trailer and put a rusty hitch on it.
They make it in a spray too that is easier to get where you need it.
