On Chevrons web site they have some info about the new Ultra Low Sulfur diesel. (ULSD)
They claim they are adding some lubricity additives to make up for removing the sulfur. So that your truck and mine will run just fine on the new ULSD. This is part of the reason they claim it will cost more.
If you question whether the manufacture added the extra ingrediants to add lubricating qualities, you can add any of the after market additives.
Oh Boy, we get to spend more money on additives, After we spend more per gallon to buy the new fuel, that has a lower BTU rating so we get worse fuel mileage. I suspect that a number of the aftermarket additives will just put the Sulfur back into the fuel.
