Hi everyone.
Just an update on my trailer problem.
Long story made short, 10 years ago the dealer did not complete my paperwork properly, bank lost the title, and it took me too long to keep following up on this matter every time.
It got to the point where I needed Sooner to issue me a duplicate certificate of origin so I can get my trailer titled and registered.
After having all these problems and posting on here, Lonny Smith found my post in an hour and assisted me in getting this matter resolved.
Now, 24 hours later (probably would have been sooner, but I had to wait a day to get to a fax machine), I receive an email from him stating that everything is taken care of and it should go out today!
It's not too often in this day and age you get such fast service, let alone fast service from such a large company.
After owning 3 of Sooner's trailers and having been catered to like this, hopefully others on here will see how large companies should treat their customers.
Thank you Lonny!

I am sorry to read that your bank has lost the MSO on your 10 year old trailer. I am also sorry that you feel that makes us the bad guys. While jumping through hoops is a pain, we can’t just send an MSO to everyone that contacts us requesting one. As much as one likes to believe in humanity, there are many out there that would take advantage if we did so.
I checked with our lady that handles MSO info. She has not received anything from you other than the hold harmless agreement she sent you for completion. Perhaps the other documentation was lost somewhere in cyberspace, but it is not here.
Here’s what you do.
Do not scrap the trailer.
Do not get a homemade title.
Send the notarized statement from the finance company saying that you have satisfied the lien and they have lost the title during the buy out.
Include the following with the banks statement (all should be found on the VIN tag);
A clear photo of the VIN tag
GVWR
Complete VIN
Model
Date of manufacture
You can fax or e-mail all to my attention and I will make sure it is taken care of.

I sure understand your frustration. But the way Mr. Trailer stepped up...now THAT, in my book, is great customer service. I've never bought a Sooner, but after reading Mr. Trailer's reply, I'll sure consider one next time.

this was not a sooner/utc problem. as they do not retail trailers, it is the resonsiblity of your dealer. i don't know about PA. but in our state only the dealer can supply the duplicate mso & bill of sale as they are the ones that are licensed to do so. a mso issued by the manufacturer would be useless without a invoice from the licensed dealer in Louisiana. you have known about the problem for 10 years without getting it corrected? UTC is getting the blame & they seem to be more that eager to help.

I've personaly watched Lonnie in action when he was with Featherlite helping me with my small problem...now again with UTC.....Shows me that it is the people that make a company and not the company makes the people.....My bank would have a real problem on there hands if they lost my title! You have a contract that says when you pay, here is the title.....They have more stringent rules to follow than anyone else on this issue...They didn't follow the contract that you both signed....make them do the dirty work!

First of all, thank you Mr Smith for your quick response.
I'm getting the things gathered up for him as requested.
Part of this situation is my fault and I acknowledge that in my original post.
Unfortunately, when working with a dealer who has screwed things up to begin with, about 2-3 months pass each time from the time you submit things to when you hear something back from your state.
The whole process has been a nightmare between both the dealer and the bank.
According to several notaries, this duplicate MSO will fix everything for me.
Going to the manufacturer is my last resort.
I completely understand Sooner needs all the proof and they are having it sent to them again.
I will keep you updated on things.

Another Update.
I emailed the information to Mr Smith as he requested and he is in the process of taking care of things for me.
They couldn't have been any better in helping me with this so far.
I need to fax him the bank information again and we should be good.
I will keep you all updated.
I also want to say again that I have owned 3 Sooner trailers and have used them all VERY hard. I have never had any problems with them and have always felt that they are one of the best trailers on the market.

I agree. Done.
I'm not one that follows these forums on a regular basis and didn't even realize Mr. Smith was on here until I got his response.
I will keep everyone updated on the progress.
So far everything has been great!
