We just purchased a lq trlr. It has a step up. We have only used slant load with our herd. Can't wait for the first loading..............
Input would be greatly appreciated.
I assume you mean that your old trailer had a ramp and the new trailer is a step up? If you horse is broke to trailer load correctly they will step right up in there no issues. If you have to put a can of feed in the trailer just out of there reach to get them to load, you still will have to. I have one of each, and the good ones will load in both, the dumb ones are hard to load in either.

I ment to say ramp, sorry I wasn't clear.
You've made me feel better though. Our horses load on and off by themselves,. even our 1- 1/2 y/o gelding. It's funny, after we purchased the lq trlr, the husband called me at work and both of us said at the same time, "Did you know that this is a step up! " I'm sure they're going to give the new trailer some snort's before entering. (finger's crossed)

I COULD WRITE A BOOK ON BAD LOADING, BUT WHEN I SWITCHED TRAILERS , I PUT A SCOOP OF MANURE IN IT FROM MY HORSES STALL, SHE GOT THE SCENT AND WENT ON [ THAT DAY]

I went from slant load step up to a straight load with a ramp. I pretty much had to reteach my mare to load. I could not believe it. But i just used Clint Andersons technique and she loads better than ever. Horses never cease to amaze me. But I love them anyway...Good Luck.
