How much can I expect a 4 horse steel/alluminum trailer with LQ to weigh? I haven't been able to find that stat on most ads. I did see it on a Trails West (steel--same size) and it was 10500 lbs. That seems VERY heavey to me. Am I wrong?

10,000 # seems reasonable for a 4 horse with LQ to me... maybe 15,000 total with four horses and a load of camping stuff.

Why do you think it's high?

That's why you see so many people pulling them with Dually's.

My all aluminum 3 horse GN with a Weekend package weighs 7200 lbs empty.

The weight will vary depending on the trailer manufacturer, the size of the LQ, and the components of the LQ.  Your question is too broad.

Think of it this way, a large, full size, diesel pick-up can  be in the 6-7,000# range, so isn't it concievable that a trailer the size you are talking about with all of that "stuff" in the liv. quarters could be like pulling one and a half pick-up trucks behind yours?
