Hi there, I am searching for a good quality used horse trailer and came across an older Sundowner. Is there anything I should be aware of in buying a trailer this old? Thanks.

Kind of vauge in your description, (1990's) that gives us a 10 year span and no knowledge if it is steel or aluminum or steel and aluminum(Valuelite)

Almost like real estate, there are three things to look for in older trailers.  Suitability, condition and condition.

Will your truck fit under the trailer, (Suitability)

Then the last two (condition and condition) Pull up the mats, look at the whole floor.  A trailer not cleaned regularly will rot the floor very quickly... regardless of the floor materials.  Look for roof leak signs on the inside.  Check the tires. Check the trailer conditions very thoughly.

Yes, on a trailer of that age make sure you check the floor. if they haven't been cleaned regularly they tend to get corrosion especially on the right side where the urine pools.
