I've been going to the June BRTR for the past 7 years. Meet my fellow Hoosiers there. They've been going to the June ride for 25 years!! You'll have to get on the waiting list I'm sure. It's very hot in June.

We are sending our deposits in today. There are a few sites left, but I'm sure they are in the open. How many are usually there in June? Are most on gaited horses or is it a good mix with stock type?

About 30 of us did this ride back in June '97 and really enjoyed it. The best part was we had 2 friends that had been there many times so they took us on the rides so we didn't need to go with the arranged rides. People were very friendly, but the food provided wasn't all that great. We also had some monsoons, but I would go back again.

The west side of Nashville, TN has quite a bit of construction on it on the I-40 side. Not sure about the south 65 side. The next time I go through I will pay attention and try to post to give you some idea.

Take 65 South through Nashville, pick up 40 towards Memphis to Hwy 13 South toward Waynesboro. BRTR will be on your right. The gravel road to camp seems to go forever. Approx. 7 or 8 miles I guess. All types of horses and personalities will be there. I believe there are 2 or 3 rides that go out every morning, real fast, fast, and slow. You're back by lunch except if you ride the River ride then you're gone a good 8 hours. If it's dry, it's REAL DUSTY, if it rains really hard, be ready to pull out if you're on the lower campground. I've seen the water up to the roofs of the shower houses. Bring bathing suits, and some type of floating device to float the river. Lots of fun. There's a dance every night and an auction on either Wed. or Thurs afternoon. Horse show on Wed also. Private email me and I'll tell you my camp number.

N2ridin gave great details. It is a beautiful place, although kinda crowded for me. We used to go several years ago before it got so popular, and even now I prefer to go on "off" days when there is not an organized ride so as to avoid the crowds. If ya never been though, you should check it out. Get a canoe and float the river while you are there.

How many are there in June normally? I've been to Cross Country Trail Ride in Mo. and there are around 2000-2500 in June. So anything less will seem like a small crowd to me!

BRTR is a pretty good ride. Another good time to go there is on Memorial Day weekend. Cafeteria is not open, so you have to do all of your own cooking. The river water is chilly but still tolerable for floating. (a lot like the Jack Fork at Cross Country - better tubing than in canoe) 400-600 people at this time but if you come early you should not have a hard time finding a good shady camp spot.

Not trying to be discouraging, but BRTR's camp is not the same size as CCTR's camp. I have been there and 400-600 would be pretty crowded. Also the weather around here in late June is HOOOOOT! They do have some very good trails.
