I got one of those coleman hot water on demand showers and I would like to put it in the 3rd slant stall of my trailer. Anyone have any good ideas how to make a quick shower curtain. I am assuming those coleman hot water on demand are safe for the third stall in trailers. I know they say for outdoor use only but if you use it in a trailer I would think it would be alright.

I used a propane heated shower in the back of the horse trailer for years. A couple of bungie cords and a couple of tarps or real shower curtains with hooks work very well. In our last trailer I skipped the curtain and just hung something over all the windows. Slickers make great curtains. :)I made a collapsible PVC pipe shower stall when we had a stock trailer. I just hung the shower curtains around it and placed it in the back of the trailer. Some friends made one that hung on the back door. Lots of ideas, no pictures. LOL Now we have a cowboy shower and I made curtains and velcro them over all the windows in the back. We still use a propane heater for warmth in the winter while showering.
Have fun!

You can get the shower curtians with the magnets sewn into the bottom (or make them) and use them upside down.  Just stick the magnets to the celing/walls.

I bought the freestanding shower "Tent" from Cabela's.  At 87" height it should set up in most trailers. I plan on using it out side.

I have one of the Coleman Hot Water On Demands and so far I love it. I use it in the back of my trailer, but it's a stock/combo trailer, so lots of air flow. The propane isn't a safety issue with that much air. I don't use a shower curtain. I like to look outside thru the slats and see the horses and the views. I pretty much only camp w/other women, so modesty isn't a big issue.

Thanks for all the ideas. The magnet one sounds interesting.  I am  not brave enough not to have a curtain and wouldn't the water get all over.  My friend stands in a big plastic tub and takes a shower.  Any other ideas?

My trailer has a wood floor and the water runs off the floor mats, then down between the wood cracks. I usually camp in "unimproved" campgrounds, so the runoff isn't a problem. I have a friend who strings a tight nylon cord up and hangs a shower curtain(cute western motif!) from that. The only problem she's told me about is when a breeze comes up and the curtain brushes against her.....Man, that's cold!

Hate to tell you this but last time I camped out with the horses and dogs we cleaned ourselved in the stream...brrrrrrrrrr, heated dish water on the campfire and used a shovel for other things.  Not doing that again.  Like all your ideas about showers and rides.  Sure liking this site more and more.

I have a cowboy shower in the first stall of my trailer. My husband put some eye hooks in the ribs of the ceiling. I bought a hula hoop and attached to the eye hooks. Then you can just attach shower curtain with shower curtain rings. I have a plastic tub that hubby put a fitting on, I screw garden hose into that and drain it out the back. Keeps the trailer floor dry.

CTR, what sort of tub, please? I hate using our cowboy shower for this reason alone- the floor is a mess.

I don't worry about a shower curtain, lol. Sometimes I'll set a ceramic heater in the horse compartment on HIGH while we drink coffee and get the day started. Once it knocks the chill off, I take my shower ;)

I bought a rectangular plastic tub at Lowes. You could also use a clean new muck bucket. I also have put a heater back there when it is cold.

I have a 100 gallon Rubbermaid horse trough. I bet a smaller one would work just fine. They are light when empty and have a drain. Im sure you could find a way to hook a hose up to for drainage out the back of the trailer.

The trailer forum has another discussion on the "Shower" in the living quarters and such.  They have people who have used a plastic laundry tub from Lowe's and cut it down to fit.  The drain is out the bottom which would work fine with a short base.  Check the thread out and look at these pictures http://community.webshots.com/album/32993736nXITHU/1

This is a good Idea.

Remember, magnets will not work on aluminum.  If your trailer is steel then you have no problem....

I have a friend who built a cowboy shower in the front stall of his trailer.  He built a shower base out of 2x4's and particle board, fit it right into the corner.  Once he positioned it to where it was going to be when he uses it, he cut a hole for the drain.  Then he took it to a bed liner place and had it coated.  It works great to keep the water where you want it.

For years I always used a solar shower in the back of a closed horse trailer. I would heat water and add to the water in the bag if it wasn't warm enough.  Since then I bought a Coleman shower for $20 at Kmart that runs on batteries and use a 5 gal. white bucket.  I heat water and add to the bucket.  I hang a shower curtain across the back on rope. You can fit everything in the white bucket with toiletries and put the lid on to store.

I bought a ZODI and used it one year and I ended up heating the water up in a white bucket instead of using directly thru the ZODI (got too hot).

I have the Zodi propane shower. I purchased the coolest shower enclosure. .it is called an Outback porta privy. It is and enclosed shower/porta potty enclosure with vents, windows and a full door. The coolest thing. . it is a "pop up" I pull it out of the bag, twist and instant enclosure. check it out http://www.evergreen-outdoors.net/outback/porta_privy.htmI purchased mine from a local outdoor store for $39.99 I have a cowboy shower, but prefer to be outdoors. The privy has a floor if you need to use it and the top can be open or closed. I find it very easy to use. I set a table outside to hold my clothes, put the hot shower unit outside with the shower head inside. Ask hubbie to light the fire and enjoy a hot shower!

I just use a long curtain rod, but you could use any thpe pvc or pipe and hang it across the top part of the trailer and get you a shower curtain. You might could find an extension type rod that would work, then just use reg ($dollar store) hooks and curtains!!!

Hi all...Just joined so I must say hello to start...Would love to know more about the Coleman Hot shower as I'm planning to get one based on your replies.  Does the shower head feature and small pump permit enough water pressure to even get the shampoo out!!?  Also liked the idea of the "pop up" enclosure from Evergreen.  Thanks for your reply from SW Fl.

Birdsong... I have the Coleman Hot Water on Demand.  I really like it.  The water gets nice and hot, but you can easily regulate the temperature and the water pressure is pretty good.  I get the shampoo out!  and the creme rinse....
