Has anyone used the Marquis Supergrip horse boots? If so, what was your experience with them and would you buy them again? They are pricey, but I feel that rubber vs metal has to be better on rocky trails.

I have a pair and love them. My horse is barefoot, but if I'm going to ride on really rocky areas, I put them on. Several of my friends also have them and are very happy with them. The inital cost is very pricey, but I like that you can buy the parts if replacements are needed, such as the air bladder and sole.

Thanks so much for your reply. I was concerned about the valve stem which protrudes somewhat from the boot. I feel much better in that you & your friends like this boot. I like the idea that no dirt or gravel can get trapped in the boot. I've emailed customer service about the size of the air pump. I like to travel as light as possible in that I may ride 10-20 miles a day. So, just how big is the air pump? Do you carry an extra boot on your rides?

the air pump is very small and lightweight - about 5". I ride with a pommel pack and it fits in without a problem. I don't carry an extra boot, but you do need to make sure you pump them up so they stay on. I don't use mine very often, but one friend does and has used the same pair for about 1 3/4 year and rides 3-4 times a week. She did replace the air bladder in one recently, but that's it for replacements.
We have the black ones, though 2 other girls got the neon ones. They do show up better, but I prefer the black ones. My friend jumps her horse in them when out on the trail and while they have come off once in awhile, it hasn't been a problem.
