I have a 1997 Sundowner with Sierra LQ's and I have a terrible fly problem and now ladybugs ! Does anyone else have this problem ! I don't know how they are getting in. I have looked everywhere, I dont have any holes that I can find. Can they be coming in threw the air conditioner somehow ? I don't mean just a few when you open the door, I mean they fill up fly stips ! When we camp I am the only one that ever has this many flies. I go threw CANS of fly spray ( which by the way stinks like crazy). I am at my witts end. I had a 1990 Sundowner and never had this problem. If anyone has any input on something I am missing please let me know. Thanks

"only one that ever has this many flies"? Hmmm, is there a dead animal in your trailer? Just kidding. Make sure your trailer is clean and don't leave any food or crumbs or empty pop or beer cans out, because they will invite themselves in your trailer quickly. It is possible they are coming in through your AC unit, but it is also possible they are getting in through your outside venting from your stove and refridgerator. Do you have windows that have emergency exits? I've noticed on my window some gaps where flies could come in, but I don't have that problem. One tip I've learned when vacumming up flies is to spray a cotton ball with Raid and suck it up into your vacuum so that any flies that go in there will die from the Raid. Without it they will stay alive and crawl back out of your vacuum.
Fall is a bad time of year for those pesty things, especially those asian or japanese beetles. Get a couple of good frosts and that will take care of them. Unless they get into your house and you have them forever!

LOL,, no there isn't anything dead in there. I keep it spotless. I have checked the windows they can get in there. I no they aren't coming in the door because i can kill them all and park it and go out there and it will be full of them again and we haven't even used it. This is a constant thing, unless its the dead of winter out. I did notice that they get in my light covers a lot to, but a dealer checked out my roof so I know they aren't coming in there. I love my trailer just hate the flies.

No it is all aluminum with matts in it. I have checked the walkthru door and it doesnt have any places in it either. I sprayed it with a water hose to make sure. There were no leaks. I am just at a loss.

We have had this same problem in our house (both flies and ladybugs).
Apparently, there is a certain type of fly that does this.
They get into the walls and/or
insulation through very small spaces where they lay eggs. When the conditions are right (warm) they complete the life cycle and
come out. In your case, they come into the living quarters.
Could it be that the warmth from your LQ is
stimulating them?
I was told by a pest control specialist that ours are probably "Cluster Flies".
In some parts of the house we can hear buzzing in the walls, usually near a vent. A labored and intermittent buzzing, like the fly is trying to squeeze through a small space.
We have had the best luck with fly predators and caulking around vents, light fixtures and every other small gap we could find.

Most Sundowners have a door where the electrical cord enters the living quarters. The cord feeds in through this hole and ends up under one of the seats in the dinette. Not only can bugs get in here but also mice. Camping world has a new cord kit that you can retrofit and the cord plus into the trailer instead of feedin the cord out through a hole. They twist lock on and most new trailers come with this kind. You can check and see if this is your problem.

I don't usually use my cord when I camp, we camp in primative all the time. But the door I have to the cord supply is almost new and it doesn't have any holes even when the cord is out it has a little slide that the cord fits in tight and so nothing can get in there. I am starting to think Karenb is right , somehow they must be living in the walls and coming out. I know the little buggers sure drive me " NUTS ". Thanks for all your comments though sure gives me some things to check out.

Not to mention very unhealthy to breathing that crap!! I would be checking with an RV dealer and asking them what they would recommend. Or call out the Orkin man!

You might make sure you don't have a gas leak- flies are attracted to the smell of propane, not sure about ladybugs but they kinda swarm this time of year, look kind of like a honeybee swarm

Your situation brought to mind a bug problem I had several years ago in my home. I noticed increasing large numbers of tiny flying bugs one summer. I checked everything to find the source, inside and out...to no avail. Soon I realized these were growing into flies, especially in my kitchen. YUCK! One day, I noticed one of the bugs drop out of a cabinet. I had gone thru this cabinet several times already, looking for the source. This time, I noticed the plastic pockets where I stored dry gravy/sauce packets. This sheet of pockets hung on my cabinet door. When I pulled out the gravy packets, one packet was bored thru the back with tiny maggots crawling throughout. The source! double YUCK!
Took down that plastic pockets and never had the problem again
