Has anyone heard of this brand? A friend has a new one that she will sell me for 400.00. It looks really nice, and if it fits my horse, I will buy it. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this brand? I have not heard of it!

I haven't heard of it but you could go to Ebay and look it up to see what others are selling comparitively.

LOL, your on the same track! I did that last night, and they were around 4-500.00 there too. Just thought I would see if someone here had any experience as well. Thanks!

There's a brand new one listed on there right now for $199 (16" Ranch Saddle). It must be a local shop somewhere because I couldn't find any information on the brand. Anyway, the saddle looks OK - don't know if I would pay $400 for a used one - probably wouldn't even pay $400 for a new one. You can buy a good used Billy Cook or Circle Y for that price and it would be much easier re-selling those than a less known brand.

I am thinking you are right. I figure that if I take the 400.00, add some to it, and get a really nice saddle. I am thinking ortho flex or Tucker. thanks for the advice

I'd wait and get a name brand saddle too. You may not notice the difference on casual rides, but you will notice the difference when you start riding alot. Make sure it fits your horse. If looking for used, be patient. I looked for 6 months and finally came across a used Tex-Tan flex trail (1400 new) for $450 that was so new the stirrups still hung straight. Good Luck.

Just an update. I just bid on a Rocking R saddle listed on Ebay. I like the looks and make of these saddles, hope I win the auction!

I have a western star reiner. I paid $400 for it. I like it very much. Its very comfy and seems well constructed. It is very similar to the Rocking R reiner I have in construction and quality of materials. I would say a great econmy saddle.

Hi
Western Star tack is like an upgraded version of that crappy Mexican made stuff. They slapped a brand name on it and now people buy it. I would wait and get a used saddle that is a good name brand. Look on equine.com, dreamhorse.com, and ebay they have tons of saddles for sale. You can get a lot better quality saddle for your $400.

Thanks, I am now thinking about a Tucker.  I posted another message asking opinions on them, so we shall see.  The season is very slow now, so I may just take my time and find just what I want.
