Apparently enough people fall for the scam to make it worth their while.  In over five years I've had one call where a customer from Canada said their son sent $3,000 for a trailer they bought from Portugal.  They had not heard from the guy again and they were wondering if they had been taken.

we have had several phone calls today from people inquiring about that trailer. that is a $62,000.00 trailer that this guy had on sale for $5,500.00. why would anybody give that a serious thought? last year we had a $38,000.00 trailer stolen from our lot & it showed up on ebay for sale for $10,000.00. the guy even gave a prospect the serial number. these people are brave. i have not been able to reach ebay about this item today, makes you wonder about them. thanks to all the people that help expose this fraud. i hope that no one will think that we at Cwoboy Trailers had anything to do with this. But just in case you are interested, it is a very nice trailer but the price is $61,995.00. of course you can "buy it now". thanks, Roy at Cowboy Trailers.

It is amazing these idiots really believe someone would buy a $62,000 trailer for $5,500.00. I see these all the time on Ebay. The true give away is when the seller includes in his ad to address questions to a separate email other than contacting them through the Ebay system. But its nice to check out all the pictures of the trailer!

I have e-mailed eBay on several of the trailers and it usually takes them a day or two before the ad is removed. I actually e-mailed one of the sellers and he said the trailer was being stored in an eBay warehouse in California. Funny how eBay knew nothing about having warehouses (because they don't) and the seller wouldn't tell me where the warehouse was located. I told him I was going to be in California that week and would like to go look at the trailer. He never got back to me. Hmmmm.
