I have a 1980 Shoop BP 2 horse ramp trailer. I paid $600 for it a year ago. My question is - it's starting to look like it needs some work - -structure seems fine but there is a lot of rust on the bumpers, etc. Should I spend the money to repair and repaint or buy a new aluminum/steel Shoop trailer? If your advice is to repair and repaint - any recommendations on trailer repair facilities in the Maryland/Southern PA/DE area? Thank you!

That decision is up to you whether you want to repair and take the time for a 25 year old trailer. Can you justify a new or newer used trailer? How are the tires and electrical and flooring and roof on this trailer you currently own? Is it in need of more than just painting repair? It is either put the money into fixing it up or putting the money towards a different trailer.

The repair is mostly cosmetic - rust on bumper, etc. from what I can see. I'm going to take it into a trailer repair dealer this week to get an estimate. If it's half of what a new trailer will be, I'll get a new trailer.
