Pleae Help! I have found a used 2002 4 horse 4-Star W/ a 10ft LQ. Seems to have all the amenities to provide comfort while camping. The sellers are asking 36000.00. I have only seen pictures but it seems like a really good deal based on the research that I have done. The problem is that the bank wants the Manufactures Suggested Retail Price which is only 20500.- 21000. That's scary enought in itself. They don't want to lend more than the MSRP. I see used trailers everyday selling for outrageous amounts of money. If the buyer doesn't have a but load of cash then how are they getting into these trailers? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I can guarantee they are only considering the price of a 4H trailer but have not added the price for the LQ. Do you know who installed the LQ package? They will probably have to price that portion separately.

You stated that you have only seen pictures of this trailer, which would tell me that the trailer is some distance away. Location does play a part in retail price of a trailer. I would get quotes from where the trailer is located. I would NEVER pay $20K for a 4H trailer (10' LQ shell) that was 4-5 years old. That is if the price you were quoted was just for the trailer and not the LQ. You may need to get 2 quotes, one for the trailer and one from the comversion company. Like hav2 said, I would go to this AND other websites and print off comparable like trailers. If you could get a copy of the order sheet that list everything that was added to the trailer from the seller, that would help. Good luck!

they are probably right on the price for a recent trailer dealer told me that it is easier to finance a new one rather then used for they will finance all of it on a new one. It is hard to get the whole cost of what someone is wanting on a used one. So many times people looking for trailers will pick a new one over a used one because of that. Unless if they have the amount of cash to pay for the used one but many times it has to be financed. Kinda of went thru that when I had my 98 trailer for sale. It is finished off up front and priced less then a new one but alot of the buyers ended up just getting the new one.

Thank You for all the feedback everyone. 4-Star priced the trailer without the LQ. I had to go to Showtime for that quote. Hopefully today I will get good news from the bank. Most ads that have got my atttention in the past, the trailer is usually sitting somewhere across the U.S. Fortunately this trailer is only about 2 hours away. My husband and I chose not to go and see it until we hear from the bank. I didn't want to get my hopes to high. Right now we are in a 3 horse Ponderosa with a 2' short wall. Carrying 3 horses. Are daughter is 10 and rides with us all the time. We are so jammed in it. We do need a bigger trailer. We have thougt about getting a new one because it would be easier to get into it. If it doesn't work out with this one we'll keep looking. Bison trailers scare me a little with all talk about leakage. Our Ponderosa leaks. We don't want another leaky trailer. Thanks again everyone, I appreciate all of your comments. Please say prayer for us on the 4-Star.
