Ok I know I am going to get slammed but I can't help myself. Given the photos I've seen and the amount of human suffering and seeing women carrying "limp" babies around in their arms begging for food and water I just don't think resources should be spent on rescuing horses when people are still stranded on rooftops.

I can fully understand your viewpoint and I'm at a loss for words for what has happened, however, being the animal lover that I am I would also support animal rescue. Whether human or animal, help is needed by whomever has the resources to do so. Life is life, precious no matter what form it is.

Asking for help to save the horses does not mean that help is not needed for the people. I have chosen to donate to both. Certainly it is everyone's choice on where or if they want to give support. I for one have been wondering who is helping the horses and when I found it, I decided to post it so others that may have been wondering would know.
