I own a newer double wide snowmobile trailer, 4 prong flat connector, very basic. My problem is that when I hook up my trailer all the lights go out as soon as it touches my ball, but if you take it off and leave it disconnected the lights light perfect. I checked all the connections, cleaned them, and also cleaned all the grounds, also looked for shorts, but couldn't seem to find any. If anyone had any help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's difficult if not impossible to diagnose over the internet, but the first thing I'd do would be to connect the truck to another trailer or the trailer to another truck to determine which has the problem.I've seen some weird stuff happen with truck/trailer wiring.

Could be that your wiring is crossed up either at the trailer pigtail or at the tow vehicle harness .In either case could be that your positive wire for your lights is connected to the ground of your trailer and the negitive is connected where the positive light wire should have went, causing a short when you put the trailer on the grounded ball. Hope this helps,
