I am looking to trade by EBB 3 horse slant w/LQ for a Sundowner 3 horse lw/o LQ.  The sundowner I believe is 7'6" width compared to 8' in the EBY.  Will his make a huge difference to my Trakehener? Can anyone advise on the comfort of thier horses in the Sundowner ? The Sundowner is not as tall as the EBY either.  With all of the Sundowners on the road, I am assuming that comfort is not an issue for the horses.

Also, does anyone have any feel for how the EBY holds value , and how a Sundowner holds value?

Do LQ trailers depreciate more quickly or substantially then non living quarter trailers?

Measure carefully. Sundowner only makes 6'9" wide & 8' wide. Nothing in between. Make sure you know which you are getting.

Thanks, You are right 6'9" is correct.  This is a big change.

Do you think my horse would be comfortable?.

I'm not fimilar with Eby, but I know from experience with the Sundowner trailers.  They are CONSIDERABLY warmer/hotter in the horse area due to the fact that they are not roof insulated.  You would certainly think for what they cost over other brands, they would insulated the roof for the horses!!  I'm looking to buy a new horse trailer in next few months.  I HONESTLY liked our Silver Star as much as if not more than a Sundowner.  I like the Sundowner's feature as to rhino lining the gooseneck.

kkempert,

We have warmbloods and haul them in a 6'9" wide Sundowner without a problem.

However, whenever possible I give them two stalls just for added freedom.

Another important measurement would be the height.                                 How tall is your horse and how tall is your Eby?

The extra tall Sundowner is 7'6", regular height is 7'.

Hope this is helpful!

I am familiar with both brands.  I would stick with the EBY.

I am familiar with EBY and believe they make a very good trailer, however, I also have a Silver Star and I love it.  The insulation in the ceiling makes a big difference and the trailer has lots of "built in" extras making it a good value for the money. I believe they make a 7', a 7'6", and an 8' tall trailer.

What you said.

EBY was on my short list the last time, it is on my short list for next time.
Sundowner is NOT on any of my lists. 4-Star and Jamco as still on my list for next time.

FWIW, etc.
