Just another way for Uncle Sam to control another line of work. Farriers already have tests they can take and educational credits, etc. I bet it will cost about $85.

Would probably work like teeth floating in my area. Many vets consider floating teeth to be practicing medicine. Many vets don't have a clue how to float teeth. So you have a black market for good teeth floaters.
My farrier is years of experience and has performed some major hoof removals for me in the past for white line infections/chronic abcesses. This, after I worked with a "well known horse vet" for 3 months of every-other-week abcesses.
I agree with previous poster that this will most likely result in more bureaucratic red tape.
I prefer to find a farrier by reputation rather than by some government certificate.
