I am planning on doing living quarters myself and I am wondering about how much it will cost me. It is a 65" SW and a 120" long wall. 7' wide and 7'6" tall. I'm wondering how much it will cost with appliances (shower, sink, fridge). I will be making my own cabinets. But how much should I expect to pay total for appliances, insulation, wiring materials, etc...

My husband and I are planning on doing the same thing. I am interested in knowing just how much we will save for all the work that will have to go into it.

I expect my trailer to have about $5-7k on the interior refinishing. That number goes up fast if you buy a nice prefab couch, fancy fridge, etc. I priced new appliances, but didn't go for anything in the luxury spectrum. We will build our cabinet bases, bench seating, etc.

Mind you I'm guessing at that estimate. That's including everything that I have (or haven't) bought. I might be pleasantly shocked when I add it up but I always shoot high on things like this for that purpose :). And no my appliances are all A/C 110v. I haven't bought them yet but I have priced out what we want. All this wood adds up. I'll go home tonight and add up what I have in it so far. I average $50.00 to $80.00 on each trip to Lowes or Home Depot. I've just bought a little at a time and have worked on it alittle at a time, that's why it's taking me so long. There are some things that I can add later so they might not get included right away in the total as well. I know for a fact it would've cost me at least $5000.00 for a conversion company to it.
Michelle, who did you use for your web site that you created for your trailer??

Yeah, AC appliances help the budget. All of mine will be DC/LP - fully self contained. There are never plug-ins where we camp. :-)
I used Front Page for my website. Todd, if you build webpages and need somewhere to host it, you are welcome to put it on my server (husband is an ISP, I have my own server). You have helped me so much with my trailer by just posting your pictures online, I'd be happy if I could do something for you. I don't think it would have occurred to me that I could do it myself if I hadn't found your site.

I have totalled the reciepts on my trailer and am a little over $1700.00. This is a basic Weekend camper package with out all of the appliances. I have water under pressure, and a microwave to heat with, everything else will be outside.

Yes we are most definately in love with our Hart. It's built very well and like MBRA518 said Hart 's and CM's are almost identical. In fact when we were trailer shopping those were the two we had narrowed it down to. We chose the Hart and love it. One of the decisions to go with either of those were the floors and the studs used in construction. The floors have supports on 6" centers rather than 12" which we found to be the case in most other trailers. It also helped when your friends with the dealers son and he runs that place not that that wasn't a factor...LOL.

It looks good. It is a bit small (hard to read) but I'm not complaining. Can't wait to see how you did the electrical. That's what I need the diagrams for. I still haven't gotten my battery hooked up to the truck yet.
