Just thought I would post about a bait and switch type scheme by wholesalehorsetack.com

also known as aswebsales.com

On their website the 17" abetta endurance saddle is still listed for $249.19;  since I attempted to order this saddle and received an email saying that it had already been sold and the web page simply had not been updated, and yet it is still listed.  Just letting folks know my experience with this company and of course I will not order anything from them.

How is that a bait and switch?  Did they try to get you to buy a different saddle?

Doesn't sound like bait and switch to me. You need to realize that a lot of tack stores hire other people to run their website so it might not be their fault. Get over it.

It'dtechnically be bait and switch if they advertise something then at the very last minute in the deal swap you for something less in value.

Sounds like they were honest about not having it once you contacted them.  They didn't take your money, right?

Only posted because I thought others might want to know;  that site has the same saddle for more $$ than their special advert.  The point of bait and switch is to get a person to order a sale priced item, then say it is not available/already been sold etcetera but they have another for more $$.   I am glad to see that aswebsales has fans on this site, because I will not order from them.

No one said they were fans of the site.  If you had explained it like that the first time it would have sounded more like a bait and switch.  But that is not what you said.  You simply said they were out of that saddle, not that they pointed you twards a higher priced one.

I work at a western store and it is impossible to make every customer happy. Just b/c of ONE bad experience with a store, you can't say they are terrible. Everyone makes mistakes.

I just went to the site and it says at the top of the page of saddle listings in big red letters: "All items subject to stock on hand and/or prior sale." I think they covered themselves.
