Was checking on the cost of a tag for a new horse trailer, 2005 model w/LQ, 4 horse slant. The county motor vehicle license office said it would be around $1200 per year . Has anyone else had this experience. The tag for the one we have now , 4 horse w/LQ 2003 model is $182 per year . They said the Mississippi state tax commision has changed the laws within the last 6 months and horse trailers with LQ are now classified as recreational vehicles and that all tag cost will be adjusted on their renewal dates. Any info on this will be appreciated as the knowledge about things at the county tax office sometimes comes up short for the resident.

$1200 for tags? My trailer is a 1998 4 horse slant with a DR/LQ (still working on it) and my tags this year were $6. That's rediculous!! Can you not register it as farm use anymore?
