which one is needed for a 3/4 ton chevy ( newer model, am looking now) pulling a 2HBP Logan ( gal. steel) slant. i believe it weighs 3500 # , so add what, 2000 for 2 horses? ? thanks.

Either will do. A classV hitch is only a class IV if you don't use a weight distributing hitch set up if it has a 2" inch square tube inlet for the ball mount. In order to be class V without weight distributing it has to have a larger square tube for the ball mount piece.
