I would like to install some sort of drip rail or gutter system around my trailer to protect my windows and doors. Any suggestions on materials or sources? So far I like RainKap (http://www.rainkap.com/) and insert drip rail (http://www.all-rite.com/insertdriprails.html) - but they are both fairly expensive.
The cheapest/best local solution I could come up with is installing a simple J-channel trim underneath the existing vinyl drip rail. That's if I can figure out how to get caulking in where it's needed.

Quick update - I decided no on the Dripkap, because unless I am parked on a level surface (that doesn't happen often...) the rain will still roll off the cap and roll down the side of my trailer. Or if the wind is blowing (which it always does here) it will blow the falling water right onto my trailer. Gutters appear to be the better way to move water. I can fabricate fairly deep pieces out of L shaped aluminum and install them directly below existing vinyl insert trim... Not as cool as the prefab one piece trim, but loads cheaper and very functional.

Thanks - I looked everywhere for that vinyl J bead locally and can't find any! All I can find is a horrid lightweight aluminum version. A mirror/glass place said they could order vinyl in for me, though.
I ended up finding some aluminum bullnose material today which I will try first. I attached a picture of it. It's in the carpet section of Home Depot. It's sort of a right angle, but one of the angles has a nice little trough in it. I think it can go right under the vinyl insert trim... It's another one of those affordable items - I think $8 for 12'. Its about 1.25" by 1.25".

When you post a message, there is a checkbox right under where you type your text - it says "Attach a file to this thread after posting", check that box and after you click submit you can attach a file to your post. Easy peasy, lemon squeezie!
