There was a weigh station as I left Tx and another one a few miles into NM. Neither one was open. Before I left I talked to a state trouper that works at a weigh station south of were we live and he told me it wasn't his job to check health papers and didn't even know who should check them. He said his job was just to weigh the vehicles and make sure they could pass an inspection.

We always get the coggins and health cert before we go to Congress, but Ohio has become more strict in recent years. I have a friend that moved from Mass to Florida a number of years back and he had the horro story. They only had a 4 horse trailer and 9 horses. They were all show grade Morgans. So they hired a company to follow them with the other 5 horses. They were moving to Sarasota, so they instructed the company driver that they were going to enter Florida via I-75. Only two roads you can legally transport livestock into Florida on is 75 or 95. Anyway my buddy had all the horses documentation with him. Long story short, they got seperated during the trip, and the company drive thought it would be faster to come in on I-95 instead of meeting them at the state line on I-75. Guess what, 5 horses impounded and quarantined for 14 days, boarding bills from the state of Florida, and 5 fines. No fun at all.

Did the company pay for it or did he have to come out of pocket for it? That stinks. He had the health certificates, they didn't just let him bring them over?
