Great site, great information. I would like to know if anybody out there sells or know who does, the enclosed clamshell style hay pods that you see running around the country, normally on L/Q trailers. I would greatly appreciate any web-site information or phone numbers to get in touch with a dealer or a manufacturer of these. Thank you in advance.16

I don't know of a company that independently makes them, but the ones I've seen and noticed the most are on Platinum trailers. They are in Okalahoma City,OK at Platinum Manufacturing.Their factory # is 405-577-9371.

Don't know who has them as I don't know what they are. Can you explain what they look like?

Sundowner offers them for both the 6'9" wide and 8' wide trailers-to 10'long. They have an 18" catwalk at the back of the hayrack that is left exposed. They have lockable tops that are gas-shock assisted for opening.  They are beautiful--but a little pricey--well worth the money if you need a nice weather-tight storage area !!

Sorry for the post before(or lack of). Just getting the hand of this.

I thought they were for feeding hay, not hauling.  But the way you explained it, I  know what you are talking about now.

Yep, a fancy hayrack on top of the trailer.
They are so  expensive!  I'm having a regular hayrack fabbed for mine.  It's gonna cost me maybe $350 versus $600 plus shipping buying from a dealer!

They have problems. Moldy hay and moisture issues. I wouldn't waste my money until I had done all the research.
