Okay . . . I've printed off the directions to East Fork from their website. I've read/heard somewhere that there is a difficult switchback in one of the roads to East Fork which can be difficult to maneuver. Does anyone have any info on this? Looking forward to my first time to East Fork next week for their Wildflower ride. Thanks a bunch.

There is one sharp curve. I am not sure if that is what you call a switchback. It is on an uphill pull as well. It is one of those where you feel that you are meeting your trailer on the curve. If you have enough truck, you won't have any power. We have a PSD and ease right up. Make sure you take it slow coming back down if the roads are wet though. I believe that this is close to when you get off the interstate if my memory serves me.

Also, make sure you don't drive pass the entrance. There is a gorge past this area where the road goes straight down and would be very difficult to drive through with a trailer. It is difficult to drive through there in a dually during nice conditions. Hope you have a good time. It is a really nice place to ride.

Thanks so much for the feedback and details about what to expect. We've got a group of girls that we love to camp and ride and so we're going to caravan up there. Perhaps we'll tackle this hill and tight curve; just the girls with about 5 trailers, so wish us luck. 50

We are going to East Fork Stables for the first time this year (end of the month). Been to private home and stalls in the Big South Fork area did not have problem, but can't remember the roads we took as they did tell us ones not to take. Our rig is 40ft long pulling with a dually. What road is the best for larger rigs? Did someone say that you can easly pass the entrance to East Fork? All info would greatly be appreciated.

Please help with directions as the map on the website uses HWY 52 which is a harder pull with switchbacks. Someone says we should take 27 to Hwy 111 to Hwy 127?? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Are you all talking about East Fork in Ohio, or Tennessee?? I'm going to be going to East Fork Ohio in May... we have a group of girls that are going to camp off horse back for a night while riding around the lake.

With all due respect, I think some of the posters are confusing East Fork (a privatly owned place) with the Bandy Creek area at Big South Fork (a Nat. Rec. Area). To get to East Fork, take I-40 west to the Crossville Hwy 127 exit, go north and it's on your left. No bad roads or switchbacks. This is the same general dircection you go to get to Big South Fork, but it is farther north and you must go east off 127. If you pass Bandy Creek campground and stables, there is a deep gourge and some really bad switchbacks. Always come into Bandy Creek from the Crossville/ Jamestown side to be safe.

Yeah, I was referring to East Fork in Tennessee. Thanks for all the responses and others who were interested in information about the drive up there. We had a great time despite the weather. Some of the most beautiful riding I have ever seen and to be able to ride out on the Cumberland Rim and look out across the gorge and the mountains was INCREDIBLE ! ! ! Our drive went without incident; the switchback which prompted my original email turned out to be no big deal. Ready for our next trip.
