Hi riders;
I'm getting ready to go to the Daniel Boone National Forest, in May. What can I expect? I'm trying a place I found on the Internet. Its only about 160 miles from the house. I sure hope the rain has stopped by then. Its rained for 2 weeks in Louisville,KY.

We live about 50 miles from Red Hill Horse Camp. We camp there several times a year. The camp ground is well designed for horse camping. They have water and electric hook-ups at each site, showers at the cook shed and stalls for horses. Trails vary from very easy to very challenging. Overall it is a good place to spend the week or weekend.

This Campground borders the Daniel Boone National Forest. There are three trails out of the camp two forested and one country road. The trails lead to horse lick creek with several loops from 2 to 20 miles. Sheltowe Trace Trail crosses horse lick creek and is 245 miles long. Lots of logging roads and country roads to make longer or shorter loops.
