New to this, only been riding about 5 years. Fell in love with trail riding very late in life. Just purchased my first (and probably last) 3 horse living quarters horse trailer. Exiss 2006. My problem is that the stall dividers do not lock easily. Like they literally have to be SLAMMED into the paddle latch to lock. The dividers are not warped. I cannot figure out what the issue is. Anyone have a suggestion? I'm afraid i'm going to slam it one time and its going to spook the horse and one of us is going to get hurt. I just need some advise or guidance please.

hi, just a guess but with it being a 2006 and if you don't know how the previous owner took care of maintenance you might want to try some lubrication on the latch mechanism.

Is this the latch where it is a large plate on the end of the divider, that slips into a paddle type of wall latch? If so, it is possible one of your walls has shifted, causing it to not fit very well. With that, style, there are no "adjustments", but rather you just have to see what isn't fitting and bend or tweak until it does. Or- sometimes there's enough slop in the hinge pins the divider droops and you have to lift it to fit into the slot. That is easily fixed with a file on the bottom of the plate.
