This past summer I had my local trailer shop install a 30 amp hookup, AC unit, electrical outlet in the dressing room and electric awning. The 30 amp hookup powers the AC and outlet, and the battery powers the existing lights in the DR/horse area/awning. I’ve used it a couple times and the last time I camped at a show, the lights/awning were dead after that. I was told that my truck would change it while hauling, but after some research, it appears the truck is more for maintaining the charge instead of actually charging it.

I recommend the INTELI-POWER 9200 Series converter. For your application probably only need the 55amp model which is the smallest size they make. With the smart charging system it won't burn up your battery if you leave it plugged in over the winter. I upgraded the converter in my camper last year because I was tired of managing the charge of my batteries over winter storage.
